Аннотация
Лексеме dbj, известной в египетском языке со времени XIX династии, словари обычно дают предельно широкое и расплывчатое значение «армия, войско». Анализ контекстов ее употребления приводит автора к заключению, что она обозначала элитное подразделение чужеземных наемников (шардана) в составе египетской армии.
