Abstract
The article discusses the main areas of research in modern phraseology. Attention is drawn to the need to use such a method of analysis, which is based on the study of many factors that affect the formation and functioning of the phenomena of the phraseological system. The role of the internal form is emphasized, influencing neither syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features of idiom behavior.
