- Abstract
- A significant increase of the natural gas consumption in the world in recent years, with the concentration of its reserves in more regions than oil, predetermined high interest to mining gas business projects and led to wide possibilities to diversify assets portfolio of major oil companies. This article is concerned with an overview of Russian vertically integrated oil companies mining gas, including LUKOIL, and transnational oil companies, defined the reasons of the natural gas growing importance and the development priorities of the gas business in Russia and abroad. At the end of the article it was concluded that the companies engaged in hydrocarbons exploration and mining there should be a balance of oil and gas reserves.
