Abstract

The reviewed book is a detailed study of U.S. policy in the field of protecting the American manufacturer and stimulating the development of industry based on an analysis of the "Buy American" regulations from the historical law of 1933 to the executive orders of the 45th U.S. President Donald Trump. The book presents a concretization of the conceptual apparatus, identifies the peculiarities of the organization of control over the application of legislation and assesses the prospects for its development, including in relation to international law.

The authors identified the main directions for the development of the Buy American Act, including strengthening protectionist policies, increasing the number of exceptions for the purchase of foreign goods, expanding the object of the law exclusively from goods to hire labor and contradictions with international law.

This book is of interest both for procurement specialists and for all interested in the evolution of approaches to the protection of the domestic manufacturer, the formation of the government procurement rules and decision-making in the area under consideration.
