Аннотация
В статье анализируются две основные проблемы, с которыми столкнулось американское общество на президентских выборах 2000 г. Несогласованность частей американского законодательства и технические проблемы повлияли на возможность выбрать будущего президента в определённые сроки, создав, таким образом, прецедент обращения в Верховный суд США как инструмент решения возникших споров.
