Abstract
The author shows how the idea of geopolitics in Russia becomes a phantom of false consciousness, a symptom of a national inferiority complex. He demonstrates that the idea of “special path” of the country, specifi cally conceived for her role as a “great power” distracts from solution of pressing problems of social and economic development.
