- Abstract
- The article is devoted to the analysis of recruitment of regional capitals'mayors in 2000th. The author shows that majors come from rather narrow socially-professional base, including administrative-political elite of various levels and the heads of economic entities. Power centralization is expressed in the growth of a share of mayors recruited from the regional governments. The dependence between procedure (elections, appointment, competition) and the base of recruitment is in detail considered.
