- This article is dedicated to the problems of determination of the essence of sustainable development. qhe author thinks that the ecological-economic conception of sustainable development dominating within the world consciousness is rather limited for proper understanding this phenomenon. fssuing from the original sense of the term of sustainable developmentI the author proposes to understand it as the dynamic state of universal social harmony between individualsI peoplesI states and any other subjects of social relations.
