Abstract

The article analyzes the state of affairs in the most important tool of the government of the Republic of Korea (RK) — the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). It covers the history of the formation and development of this organization, the specifics of its functioning today, problems and prospects. The shortcomings of the specified “presidential” intelligence service, its active role in interfering in the country's political life are noted. The author notes the underestimation of the potential of NIA in open sources, the secrecy of real capabilities of this organization.
